When it rains, it pours...

I would like to welcome one of my first readers of my blog, PHIL! Thanks for the lovely comment.  :)  I'll eat sushi with that guy anytime.

Well I hope everyone had a fantasmic weekend. Mine was quite lovely. My sissy & I watched 27 Dresses last Saturday... sooooo funny, but a TOTAL chick flick. I have a recycled crush--James Mardsen. Only recycled because I loved him like 10 years ago. Afterwards we had something like a dance-a-thon where I proceeded to fall down steps & slip on this guys spilled drink. Smacked a couple of booties & I was good to go  :)

Looking forward to this weeeeek!

On the agenda: Try out my new bikini... bow-chick-bow-wow...

Sexy Photo

Ohhhh myyyy Gahhhhh! Isn't it lovely? Isn't it wonderful? Seriously folks, I am IN LOVE! I have to have one of these new MacBook Air laptops. Sleek & sexy. A girl can dream can't she?  *sigh*

Work is going well, but I really wish it weren't so damn far! I'm left with my mom's gas guzzling car that only takes premium unleaded gas. I miss the days of yore, when I rode the bus or had to be chauffeured around by a licensed driver.

I made my biweekly trip to Target yesterday, and discovered that they have the fabulous LOEFFLER RANDALL line there... but cheap! I got a great pair of gold ballet slippers for under $30. Also, I'm going out on a tangent here, but WOW, American Idol is crazy. People are freaking ridiculous if they think they sound like Celine Dion--maybe more like Ponce deLeon! haha

On the agenda: Practice my vocal skills for Idol season 9... ahem "I'm a genie in a bottle"

You can't be let down if you don't expect the world...

Nothing literal to be taken about the title of this post. I simply LOVE 311. There's some meaning in it yes, in that, if you set your standards so low, you won't ever be disappointed. What's the fun in that?! You never truly learn what you're capable of until you've pushed both your mind & body to its limits.

With that being said, I cannot WAIT for tomorrow's Project Runway! I'm totally rooting for the super-gay, super-fab Christian. His designs are amazing, OOAK, and so outside-of-the-box. They have some crazy challenge tomorrow... personally I'm hoping they have to design new outfits for celebrity guest Britney Spears... with easy-access pockets to store her cellie to tip off the paparazzi, cigarettes for in between court hearings & partying, and a huge one on the back to carry her kids around. Oh wait! She lost custody of them to pappazow K-FED of all people!!! Hmmm, well maybe she can stick one of her dogs in it or something, she's more of a mother to them anyway. Boohoo... sue me!

On the agenda: Enroll in an art class... I'm talented! (see above modifications)

***I'd also like to keep Heath Ledger in my prayers. So talented, so young, so hot... so so sad & unfortunate  :(  We love you!***

iPhone WebApps... Fabulous!

It's been ages since my iPhone has been updated on my computer. The poor thing was lacking some of the coolest applications I've seen period. I finally have a tip calculator, currency & unit converters, Fandago movie finder, and various fun games to keep me occupied on my long work breaks. I love Biphle, which is the electronic phone version of Boggle. I'm awesome at it... yeaaaa  :)
As for my Yuma trip. FuuuUUUn! It truly was not long enough. Baby Mckenzie is absolutely beautiful. She looks just like my cousin Tiff, but with almost jet-black hair...lots of jet-black hair. She is so tiny but strong. Of course all my other 50 million cousins were cute as always, especially newest edition Megan (formally Aidan). Getting sooo big, only 8 months and 1/3 my size. Which isn't saying much seeing as how I'm barely 5' 3"!

On the agenda: Get some sleep tonight.

Loved It

The movie Cloverfield last night was super creepy. I enjoy the documentary-styled movies with that shaky first person camera that lacks peripherals. The alien/Earthly Creature was so weird looking. Almost in the shape of an ape with the face os a skinless pitbull... yipes!  Poor Manhattan didn't even know what hit them. Directors left it kind of open at the end where you can only speculate what happens, and I thought it was hilarious that a movie-goer yelled out "what happened?!" when the credits started rolling. Isn't that the scary part though, the unknown?

Anyway, before getting out of my cramped apartment for the movie, I spent my half-day work day watching an exorbatant amount of Hannah Montana. That damn show came out of nowhere & hooked me. Since The Hills is still on hiatus, I had to find solace in my Disney channel shows. "Sweet nibblets!" haha

My thoughts... go see Cloverfield, it's truly entertaining. It kept me on the edge of my seat. Uhm, give Hannah Montana a chance for some mindless television and high school humor, and turn the music up on your computer so you can hear FABULOUS!

On the agenda: Get to Yuma and back safely;

Excuse Me?

So I'm just absolutely digging on my new marshmallow-y goodness of the glorified slipper called uggs. Seriously, it adds extra oomph to my boring everyday clothes... simply fabulous... simply fierce!
I'm sure that nobody agrees to my High School Musical 2 background music. I freaking love it, & I love the Tis', and I love musicals people. Come on, you all should know better  :)
Tonight I'm going out to see Cloverfield and hoping that it's not going to bomb. As long as there's a huge-ass Diet Pepsi involved, it's all good.

On the agenda: No impulsive shopping--stick to my budget!!!

Undo

As always, I get bored with things easily, and today I realized how much I hated my other layout. This one is more complex looking and not so matchy-matchy, which is so icky & tacky. who loves it? I DO! My cousin Pipi finally had her little Mackenzie... I think I'll call her Kenzie  :)  She's gorgeous. Can't wait to see her this weekend.

Yay! Half-Day Friday tomorrow!

On the agenda: Keep up on my gym time

Honestly, WTF?!

So my dad's race last Sunday went well considering his engine blew IN THE FIRST HEAT! Poor guy, but he didn't even get to relish in that disaster's limelight because he let this kid who races drive his car. Whatever, like always with these little outings, I still had a great time besides all the complaining on my behalf. I love supporting my family and all, but I have a problem with how dirty it can be. Blechhhh!

Does anyone agree with me that Valentine's Day can either be one of the GREATEST or WORST days ever depending on your status? I had a guy once for this lovey holiday & I was ecstatic, the roses, surprises, stuffed animals, but GEEZ! The other 24 times I have to hear everyone else gush about how "sweet" their boyfriend is or hear ugly single people complain about how dumb this holiday is. Thankfully, I have a loving family who always send cards, chocolate, and flowers. My sis is always my best Valentine!

On the agenda: Get to work on time tomorrow :)

Hi, I'm Roxy, and I'm a Björk-a-holic.

So last night was pretty boring aside from an awesome dish of chicken ravioli, Moose Track ice cream, and the semi-exciting football games. By the time I got back to bed, I started to think, and as anyone who knows me knows, thinking can sometimes lead to trouble for me. Naturally I took solace in my iPhone; moreover, I took it in Björk.

I may sound like a broken record, but she really can say things that normally people don't have the guts to say or just can't put into words. The outcome even with her sadder songs is a feeling of empowerment. You don't get anymore independent that Mrs. B... this lady had compete artistic control, which for most musicians or actors is almost unheard of. (Oops! I just ended my sentence in a preposition!) Awww F*** it! I've got away with worse  :)

My dad is racing tonight in something they call the Early Thaw. I'm pretty excited, but I really miss my little Pippa. I would really love to be a stay at home mom with her. :(  Well, we're off to the races!

On the agenda: Root my dad on!

Party Nomad LFA's

Made popular by fashion icon & gorge Brit Sienna Miller, the LFA boots I just received by Royal Mail give Uggs a run for their money. They are knee-high white uggs with fancy little Swarvoski crystals & satin laces.... ahhhhhh... I'm in heaven. Now all I need are practical places to wear them!

Shoot, I'll wear them to bed if I have to :) They are my glorified slippers & I can't wait to step out of my place with them. Have a lovely evening everyone.

On the agenda: Seriously, I need to get
my ass on a w.o. program!!!

Last Kiss

My sister just absolutely loves all these damn romantic comedies!  Fortunately for her, I too love this movie. But her poor George.... he's going to regurgitate this gorgeous breakfast he made for all of us, which by the way is as bomb as french toast & bacon can be.

So I watched Sweeney Todd last night and it was fabulous, the singing, Johnny Depp, the throat-slashing, ohhhh, it was a beautiful thing... aside from my coughing throughout the whole movie. Too bad he didn't realize what was right in front of him the whole time  :(   My big revelation this week is that Saturday is my favorite day of the week for both known & unknown reasons. Mostly because I can sleep in until 1:30pm like I did today  :)

On the agenda: Start freaking working out already!!!

Resolution: To Be More Financially Resposible

My New Year's resolution is to be more aware of my expenses and to even create a budget. It kind of came to me last minute when I realized that I'm not saving as much as I'd like to each month. Plus my sister just told me I had to because we want to get into a condo.  We've lived in our little apartment for the past 3 years, and we've definitely outgrown it.

On another note, we're finally getting our computers in the club tomorrow! It's been one loooooong month without them.  Oh yea, and just like I promised, here are some pictures from the holiday  :)

On the agenda: Hot-tub... holla!

01 January 2008

Happy New Year Planet Earth!!!

I have decided to document, once again, what goes on in my happy, silly, fun, & sometimes sad little world. There's always something happening in my life that I would like to share with my family, friends, and the world, and what better way than a blog to serve as the vehicle to get it all out there? Duh!

So let's get started. Can anyone believe that it's already 2008? It didn't seem too long ago that I celebrated last New Year's. Unfortunately, due to something that closely resembled bronchitis, I was reduced to ringing in '08 in my bed, lost somewhere in my REM cycle. Not so fabulous right? However, the days leading up to today were amazing! I got to spend them with my family. I got everything I wanted for Christmas, our Second Annual Avelar Family Holiday Auction was a success, and my little Pippa has stopped eating her poo and isn't going on our floor anymore! I promise to provide photos later of the aforementioned events, save for the Pippa house training... that's just foul!

Well that about sums things up currently, and I look forward to sharing all my mishaps with everyone in the coming year.

On the agenda: Come up with New Year's Resolution
