She's got her hair pulled back & her Wayfarers on baby...

It is summer in Arizona... good shades are crucial. I opted for this iconic style that brings to mind Don Henley's "Boys of Summer" and my second father, Jack Nicholson. Bring on the UV rays :)

Our Mascot

This guy is the unofficial mascot of our place. I mostly use him as a paperweight for my share of the rent & bills. I think it is an Asian elephant.

I should 'ave been a cowboy...

Yet another reason I love easy summer days. When I have almost no time to get ready I always go for the tried & true fallback: flowy cotton dress & Frye boots. These are great because they give me a little lift but stay true to the authentic rugged look of a cowboy boot. Simple. Easy. No fuss.

Out with the old, in with the new... Yankee Stadium that is!

Firstly I would like to mention that I love all Arizona sports, but before we ever had our D-Backs, I had the Yankees. Other than their legacy of baseball greats, I have always had an affinity for New York, more over NY, NY (city so nice they named it twice!). Unfortunately, I never was able to visit the old stadium, and this years marked the opening of its newer, grander counterpart, while the old gets demolished slowly.

Sadly it will probably be a while before I even visit the fashion mecca of the states, but luckily I got some pictures of the new field (thank you Joe Mirra!!!) so I can at least live a day vicariously through someone else.

Lazy days of summer

I forgot how much I like this hat. I purchased it a few years back from Bluefly, figuring I would wear it a lot, when in actuality, it has been worn 4 times (now 5). I thought about putting it up on eBay until I needed something to cover my scary hair one morning and remembered this long forgotten Gucci bucket hat. The kids at Einstein's Bagels never knew what was really lurking underneath, affording me future trips to my favorite breakfast place! I unofficially named a must-have eat after myself from there... it's PB & J (preferably strawberry) on a toasted Dutch Apple Bagel... try it!!!

Hotel Valley Ho

It was a really hot Fourth of July, and I spent it poolside at the Valley Ho in Scottsdale--very cute place with a wrap-around balcony the size of my apartment. Sorry about the epileptic video, maybe I should practice keeping still and moving it too fast. Hope everyone had a great Independence Day!
