À bout de souffle

A classic, cute but self-aware black + white French film for closing out my winter break. “Breathless” is 1960 Jean-Luc Godard piece coming out the French New Wave era.

The wannabe gangster tries to seduce the seemingly naive girl.
Jean Seberg is the aspiring journalist for the French offices of formerly known New York Herald Tribune (The New York Times).

Like others, I became obsessed with the cool, mock-neck sweater she wore.
Not to mention all her 1,000 outfit changes throughout the movie. Replicas ($90) are available right now on The New York Times website.

Or for $39, a similar t-shirt version is offered as well.

If interested the movie is streaming on YouTube with subtitles, so no multi-tasking! Great dialogue & acting puts this movie in my top100 🎥
