Lights and Tigers and Bears, Oh my!

Last week was the second time I visited the Phoenix Zoo during the Zoo Lights festival. It was a rather cold short walk with only a few animals roaming about because of a fireworks show nearby the park. Although I really wanted to wear my new fur jacket that night, I settled on my white coat since it is decidedly gauche to wear fur to a zoo, even if it is only faux fur.

This well-fed zebra was the only one hanging out which worked out well for him because he spent hours grazing alone.

His stripes were truly mesmerizing.

I believe this was near the monkey village.

This ball changed colors, very cool.

There was also a music and lights show that involved these trees.

Arizona Desert. The scorpion is not to scale.

This picture was taken so far from the flamingo area for a reason; they smell like rotten fish. Very elegant-looking creatures however.

Orangutans are some of my favorite animals, sadly they too were stowed away.

Ever a child at heart, I flock to a carousel like a moth to a flame. I thought it was an endangered species theme until I saw a hummingbird and dragon. Everybody knows that dragons went extinct eons ago!
